NOTICE

Lac qui Parle County Highway Department is accepting applications for a Highway Technician.  This position is to provide professional field and office civil engineering work including performing inspection duties; preparing plans and sketches; surveying; operating instruments; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the Engineer.  Duties include, but are not limited to: performing construction observation/inspection duties; preparing plans and sketches; surveying; assisting in the preparation of project specifications and bid documents; construction materials testing; additional tasks as assigned by the Engineer.

Minimum qualifications include a high school education, and Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or 3 years of qualified work experience related in this field.  Must have a valid driver license.

Good knowledge in highway design, computer aided drafting and record keeping skills are desirable.

Base Salary ranges from $20.93 to $29.11 per hour based on experience and education, with benefits including insurance, cafeteria plan, and a retirement plan.
