Lac qui Parle County Highway Department is accepting applications for a Seasonal Part-Time Maintenance Employee at the Madison shop.  Primary duties will be, under general supervision, to aid the maintenance department. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Equipment maintenance.
Mowing and trimming of park grounds and county shops.
Operation of the following equipment: Pickup trucks, Utility Vehicles, String Trimmer, Zero-Turn mower, Trailers, and Pneumatic roller.
Assist in the repair and maintenance of county equipment and buildings.
Other tasks as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.

Minimum qualifications include a high school education, ability to work independently, and a valid driver license.

Wage:              $10.44 per hour.

Lac qui Parle County Highway Department is accepting applications for a Heavy Equipment Operator at the Bellingham Shop.  Primary duties will be, under general supervision, being able to operate all or a majority of the highway maintenance equipment required in maintaining and repairing the county roadway system.
 
Minimum qualifications include a high school education, and have a Commercial Driver License (Class A) and able to obtain the tanker endorsement.
 
Good knowledge in highway maintenance procedures and equipment, equipment maintenance, and the ability to do physical activities is desirable.
 
Starting pay is $18.73 per hour going to $20.81 per hour in one (1) year with benefits including insurance, cafeteria plan, and a retirement plan.

Lac Qui Parle County, Madison, MN, is currently seeking an individual for the full time position of Human Services Director. Under the supervision of the County's Social Services Board, the Human Services Director is responsible for the overall administration of the Family Services Department, including management of a staff of 24 and an annual operations budget of around $3 million.

Examples of Duties

The Human Services Director is responsible for the planning, implementing and administration of services and programs for the County Family Services Department; the county's largest department. The director supervises department operations and activities through unit supervisors in social services and income maintenance and provides direct supervision of the child support and fiscal officers. In addition, the director is responsible for the department's compliance with regulations and direction from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and health plans with delegated agreements with Lac Qui Parle County.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology, or closely related field and four years of line staff experience including two years of supervisory experience in the human services field. Alternatively, candidates may possess a bachelor's degree with a major in business, public administration, healthcare or related field and six years of line staff experience including two years of supervisory experience in the human services field.
