The Lac qui Parle County Demolition Landfill is for demolition waste disposal only. Construction and demolition waste is generated during the construction, renovation and demolition of buildings or structures. If a demolished building is to be disposed of at the Lac qui Parle County Demolition Landfill, it must be inspected by the landfill operator prior to demolition.
Residents and haulers may bring loads to the facility as follows;
Summer: End of April/First week in May thru October (determined by weather)
Mondays and Wednesdays: 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (First Saturday of May through October ONLY)
Note: Due to the lst Saturdy in July being a holiday weekend, July's Saturday is moved ahead one week to June 29th, 2019.
Winter: Beginning end of October (determined by weather) till Spring
Monday thru Friday: Either 9:00 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. with prior appointment arranged with Landfill Operator, Kenny Fernholz, by calling 320-598-3012 during daytime business hours.
There is a $30.00 Surcharge for additional trips to the landfill other than the regularly scheduled hours.
Directions to Landfill: 1/2 mile East of Madison on Hwy 40, then North 1/2 mile on 241st Avenue
- $9.00 Per Cubic Yard for Demolition Waste
- $7.50 Surcharge per load for use of Landfill's Tractor with Hydraulic Lift
- $30.00 Surcharge for opening landfill other than regularly scheduled hours
- $20.00 Fine for Unsecured Loads
