Economic Development

As of 2022, the cities of Madison and Dawson are currently the drivers of the Economic Development function within Lac qui Parle County. 

Lac qui Parle County provides supportive funding to both the cities of Dawson and Madison who provide Economic Development services countywide through their local EDA boards, with an annual contract with Community and Business Development Associates (CEDA) for 1-day per week service. The city boards also provide economic development services through other contracts and grant programs including with the Upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission.

The Local EDA Board authorities retain CEDA to perform technical and management expertise in the form of staff and materials to the Authority.  Please contact CEDA for

Revolving Loan Fund

Lac qui Parle County provides funding for any private business in Lac qui Parle County that will employ 50 or fewer new employees and has less than $1 million in projected gross revenus.

Note: The City of Dawson also has a local revolving loan fund that can be utliized on city projects, contact the city offices at 320-769-2154 for more information.
