Due to health concerns there have been many cancellations, postponements and schedule changes in our listening area. Here are some of them:

Thrifty White Pharmacy in Madison is now providing curb-side pickup only. Please call ahead to insure that your prescriptions are ready. They will be requesting a credit or debit card to charge your items. They also offer free mail-out service which they are highly recommending at this time.

The Minnesota Ornithological Union's Salt Lake Bird Watching weekend this year has been cancelled. It would have been at the end of April.

The Lac qui Parle Diabetic Support Group will not be meeting on April 6th at Park Avenue Apartments.

The Faith Lutheran Church office in Madison is closed to the public. You can access the office via telephone at 320-598-3630.

The Dawson Boyd Baseball Association asks that 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th grade registration forms be turned in to Hollie Thompson or Steph Olson. They have boxes on the front porch you can put them in. They will not cash checks yet.

The Beginning Experience Rebuilding Series scheduled to begin on Monday, April 13th, has been postponed until further notice.

The Montevideo Fiesta Days board has cancelled this years 75th annual Fiesta Days Celebration along with the Kickoff party on April 18th..

No Syttende Mai celebration in Milan this year.

Canby Area Arts Council has canceled the Open Mic event Sunday, April 26th, 2020 at the Canby Theatre. This is due to the ongoing Covid-19 issues.

The Lac qui Parle County Board of Appeals and Equalization meetings will be done as virtual meetings via the telephone this year. These meetings will be held at the same time as indicated on your valuation notice. You are encouraged to call the assessor's office at 320 598-3187 or email assessor@lqpco.com with questions regarding your property valuation or classification. No Madison Senior Citizens meeting in April. The next scheduled meeting is May 6th.

Erickson Chevrolet in Madison and Dawson will be closed through April 10th. For sales appointments call Mike at their Dawson location. The shops will be available for emergency work only. In Dawson call 320 769-2650 and in Madison call 598-3515. In Madison you can also call Ron at his home phone 598-7633.

All Pioneerland Libraries in Madison, Dawson, Canby and Appleton will remain closed until further notice. Please do not return any materials until they have reopened.

Lewis Drug in Appleton will be open for curbside service only starting Monday, March 30th. They will try to accommodate non-prescription needs as well as prescriptions. Please consider calling in your prescriptions and payment method 48 hours before visiting the store to help expedite the process. Use the alleyway entrance for pickup. Enter from the north by the Word Fellowship Church. They offer free delivery and mailouts.

Shooters Bar and Grill in Appleton is open for takeouts. Check their Facebook page for times and specials.

The Madison Area Chamber has cancelled Ag Day for this year. The Silo movie showing will be held sometime in the future. There will be no monthly meeting of the Madison Chamber on April 1st.

The Minnesota Valley Cooperative Light and Power Association's annual meeting which was scheduled for April 4th at the Prairie's Edge Casino and Resort has been cancelled. All capital credit checks will be mailed out on April 3rd and will NOT be available at Minnesota Valley's office.

All masses at the Catholic churches in the New Ulm diocese, which is everyone in our listening area, are suspended through April 13th. All Catholics in the diocese remain dispensed from the obiligation to attend Sunday Mass during this time.

Parishioners at all of our area churches are reminded that there are still bills that must be paid during this time. Please keep up with your weekly giving and make life easier for you office manager and treasurer. Most churches offer a way for you to give your offering online. Check with your church office for details.

Due to the Coronavirus situation, Northern Plains Tiling in Madison has closed their office to the public until April 13th. The staff will handle incoming phone calls and any seed delivery/pick-up can be coordinated with Scott Sieg at 320-226-4303 or Scott Halvorson at 320 226-4626.

All church activities at Calvary Baptist church in Madison have been cancelled until further notice. "Calvary Online!' is now available weekly. A link to each Sunday's online worship service going forward will be posted to their website (cbcmadison.org) by 9:00 AM. The link will also be on Calvary's Facebook page.

The Dawson Coop Credit Union has closed their lobby doors in Dawson, Boyd and Renville until further notice. You can still use the drive-up teller and their online services.

St. John's Lutheran of Madison will remain closed to activities until further notice. Listen to the Sunday radio broadcast on 92.1 FM at 10:30 AM and the Wednesday, 7:00 PM Lenten broadcast. The Word of God is published through the Lutheran Hour ministries, Main Street Living and Bring It Home Together We Pray messages from the MN North District office of the LCMS. Contact the church if you need assistance or spiritual counseling.

The Dawson Covenant Church has suspended all in-person gatherings until further notice. Please check the website at dawsoncovenantchurch.org for links to all on-line activities.

The Checkered Flag in Bellingham is open for takeouts, delivery of meals and off-sale liquor from 10 am to 10 pm Monday through Saturday.

The State Line Bar will be open from 11am to 7 pm for carry out and off sale only.

The 109 supper Club in Gary is closed until further notice.

The Alibi in Gary is open for take out orders only from 8am to 5 pm . 60’s Dining to go by calling 605-272-5630

The Gary Bar is only open for off sale. If you want them to make off sale pizza to go call 605-272-9743 Mon- Friday 11AM TO 6 PM

Until further notice Prairie Sun Bank will be closing their lobby at our Appleton location. We encourage our customers to use their drive-up window or give them a call for an appointment if needed. They will at this time still have their lobbies open at their Milan & Marietta locations but are limiting the number of customers to two only at a time. They would however like to encourage their customers to use their mobile app, online banking, ATM Machines and to also use the night deposit box at the Milan location. They also offer mobile deposits on their app. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact one of their locations. Their customers and employees safety & health is very important to them. They thank you for understanding & patience at this time.

The law office of Swenson, Nelson and Stulz in Madison is closed to the public. You may reach them by telephone at 320 598-7578. Their Dawson office is temporarily closed.

No services or other activities at Garfield Lutheran or Lac qui Parle Lutheran Churches until further notice.

The Presbyterian Church in Dawson has cancelled all worship services and other activities until April 6th.

No worship services on Sunday or Wednesday until further notice at Grace Lutheran in Dawson or Providence Valley Lutheran of rural Dawson. Broadcasts from Grace Lutheran will be heard on KLQP-FM (92.1) at 8:30 AM Sunday and 8:00 PM Wednesday evenings. The church offices are closed to the public but you can call 769-4394 if you need assistance.

Appleton Area Health has announced that the hospital, care center and Apple Ridge assisted living are closed to visitors. The clinic will remain open.

Johnson Memorial Health Services care center, assisted living and hospital are closed to visitors until further notice.

Grace Haven Assisted Living in Madison is closed to visitors.

Madison Health Care Services care center and hospital are closed to visitors. The clinic and hospital are open to see patients.

The Big Stone Lake Area Chamber has cancelled this year's Sports and Leisure Show.

The DNR deer meetings scheduled around the state have all been cancelled

No visitors allowed at Sanford Health, Canby

The Madison Kiwanis Club has cancelled all Tuesday noon meetings until further notice.

Faith Lutheran in Madison has announced that all church sponsored activities will be suspended until further notice. The Sunday worship service will be shared on KLQP 92.1, on television, and will be posted on Facebook and our website (www.faithlutheranmadison.org) as normal.

LqP Computer Commuter is not running until further notice.

The Lac qui Parle Courthouse in Madison is closed to the public until further notice. You can still transact business via the telephone or on line.

The City of Appleton Administration has decided to close the City Office building to the public for the next two weeks. The city office will be staffed and can be reached by e-mail or phone during this time. Contact information can be found on our website https://www.appletonmn.com/administration.

The 2nd Annual Baseball Gala that was to be held on April 3rd at the Happy Hour will be postponed until a later date.

All Lac qui Parle Valley Community Education classes are canceled til further notice. However, Little Eagles Daycare will remain open.

The Canby Seniors will not be meeting until further notice

Madison Municipal Liquor Store will remain open regular hours.

The Prairie Five Nutrition sites are close until further notice. The Sr. Center and mealsite in Madison city hall basement are closed. There will be no Sr. Citizens bingo in Madison for the rest of the month of March.

The Dawson city office is temporarily closed to the public. You can still access them via phone, e-mail or the website.

The Dawson Liquor Store is open regular hours.

Jubilee Foods in Madison will NOT be closing. They are doing their best to keep items in stock and they appreciate everyone's patience.

St. John's Lutheran in Marietta, Louisburg Lutheran, and St. Pauls Lutheran in Nassau will have no Sunday services or Lenten services until further notice. You can listen to a message from Pastor Elan Hacker on Tuesday evening at 7:00 on Q-92, 92.1 FM.

In order to best protect employees and patrons, starting Wednesday, March 18th, The Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Appleton will be moving to a drive-up only model until further notice. During this time, they encourage you to take advantage of our website, mobile app, and night deposit drop box which will be checked multiple times per day. Lac qui Parle Lutheran and Garfield Lutheran will have no church sponsored activities until further notice.

All services and activities at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd have been cancelled until further notice.

The Renville County Historical Society is closed to the public until further notice.

Ag Plus has closed the seating areas in their C-Stores in Canby, Minneota, Marshall and Ivanhoe in an effort to make sure patrons are practicing social distancing.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton has cancelled all events and worship services until further notice. If in doubt, go to our website at www.trinitychurchappleton.com or call 320-289-1342 from 8-11:30, Mondays thru Thursdays. Abbreviated worship service videos are still going to be done for the Lenten and Sunday worship services and will be available from our website or Appleton’s Local Access Channel.

Crossroad Lutheran Church of Dawson says devotionals will be emailed Wednesdays for the Lenten Season and they will livestream (crossroadslutheran.net) on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am until further notice.

Zion United Methodist Church in Bellingham will not have worship or activities until further notice.

Pioneer PBS announced today that it intends to continue operating all of its broadcast and online services and maintain the current production schedule of local programs for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis. In order to insure the health of employees who cannot work from home, Pioneer PBS will be closing its studios in Granite Falls and Appleton to the public. All upcoming tours and civic engagement events are cancelled through the end of April. Pioneer PBS staff will still respond to all viewer inquiries submitted to the station via phone, email and social media messaging. Live operators will be on call until 9 p.m. each weekday.

The Larry's Refrigeration and Heating showroom in Madison will be temporarily closed due to the current health risks associated with the Coronavirus. At this time, our showroom/office in Ortonville is still open for walk in customers. They will continue to serve customers over the phone and their technicians will continue to do service work at your homes and businesses. Customers of Subway in Dawson must utilize the SUBWAY App to place an order for pick up with social distancing in mind or give them a call at 320-769-2248 and they would be happy to take your order via telephone, or stop in to fill out an order form and take your order to go. Store hours will be altered to 11 am to 7 pm daily

Many area restaurants are offering take-out and/or delivery service only for now so be sure to patronize them. The include Detoys, the Pantry, The Dairy Queen, The After 5 and the Happy Hour in Madison. The Rusty Duck, The Dairy Queen and Hilltop Bar and Grill in Dawson, Club 7-75 in Odessa, Subway in Dawson and Appleton, Boyd Community Cafe, the Checkered Flag in Bellingham and many others.

St. Paul's Lutheran in Montevideo has cancelled all services and activities until further notice.

Madison Optical will be closed thru April 3. Any pick up of eyewear will be by appointment only. Emergency phone numbers are: Office 598-7566, Kim home 698-2604 and Dr Bollman 701-388-9476. Stay home and stay healthy.

St. Paul's Lutheran in Bellingham has cancelled all services and activities until further notice.

Prairie Five Community Action Inc. has closed their offices to the public until further notice. They will be providing emergency services as listed on our website and Facebook page. You may also receive the list of numbers by calling 320-269-6578.

Old National Bank and KleinInsurance will see clients in its banking center by appointment only from 9-3. Please call ONB at 320-598-2020 and KleinInsurance at 320-598-2041. Drive thru banking will remain open from 8am to 4 pm. This allows ONB and KleinInsurance team members to clean and disinfect surfaces after each appointment. Appointments during the first hour of each day will be reserved for clients 60 or older, or those deemed at high risk.

The Appleton Food Shelf, located at Zion Lutheran Church, is now requiring people to call in before coming to the food shelf, the phone number is 320-289-2216. We will put together all food and supplies and leave outside the church doors. Our hours are Tuesday, 10am to 12pm and Wednesday, 9am to 5pm.

Prairie Five Rides bus service in all area communities has been suspended until further notice.

Grace Lutheran Church in Correll will have no services or other activities until further notice.

The Ag Service Center in Madison (SWCD/NRCS/FSA) is closed to the public. You can conduct business over the phone by calling 320 598-7321 or via e-mail.

The Lac qui Parle Food Shelf in Madison will be open on Thursdays, from 2 to 5 PM. They ask that you call before coming and leave a message with your name and telephone number. Call 598-7803. Give them your order, indicate what you would like and what you don't want. They will try to meet your request. The groceries will be put in bags and placed outside the door for pickup. Thanks for your patience.

The Lac qui Parle County 4-H office has announced the cancellation of all in-person extension 4-H programs through May 15th. This cancellation covers all in-person 4-H programming at the local, regional and state levels.Examples are club meetings, afterschool programs, archery practices, preparation for team competitions, project days and a host of others.

Zion Lutheran Church in Tyro Township is cancelling all services until further notice

The Marietta UCC church has cancelled all services until further notice

The Darrell Regnier Auction company sale that was to be on March 28th is rescheduled for April 15th.

Until further notice State Bank of Bellingham will be going to limited hours 10-2 with the Lobby Doors locked to the public.

The United Prairie Bank in Madison has closed their lobby. They are open for walk-up service with their new walk-up window, open 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. If you need to talk with a banker or insurance agent, or access your safe deposit box, call for an appointment, 320 598-7541.

The Clara City ,Milan and Clarkfield Clinics are closed.

All Dawson Chamber meetings and events are cancelled until further notice.

Madison City Hall is now closed to the public until further notice. Office staff will be available to serve you via telephone. Utility bills may be paid in the drop box in front of the building.
