Vital Records (Birth, Marriage, Death)

Vital Records are important personal documents, such as birth certificates, marriage records and licensing, and death certificates. Vital records also include the filing of notary public paperwork and other important documents.

We accept application requests for certified copies of MN State Birth and Death records on behalf of the MN Department of Health. 

Marriage Licenses

You may apply directly for a marriage license if planning for a wedding ceremony to occur anywhere within the State of Minnesota. If applying at Lac qui Parle County, your official marriage record will always remain at Lac qui Parle County!

Military Discharge Records

Military Discharge Records (DD 214) are recorded in the Lac qui Parle County Land Records Office. The Land Records Office does not charge for the filing of the DD 214 form or for a certified copy of the record. Upon recording of the Discharge Record, the Land Records Office will furnish free certified copies to the veteran. 

To receive a copy of a previously recorded Discharge Record, contact the Lac qui Parle County Veteran Service Officer to obtain an application to apply for a certified copy of a Military Discharge (DD 214).

Pursuant to current statutes, any military discharge records recorded in the Lac qui Parle County Land Records Office are restricted and not available to the general public.
