Lac qui Parle County farmers, as you empty pesticide containers this summer, remember to recycle them by bringing them to either the fertilizer plant where they were purchased or the Lac qui Parle Coop Fertilizer Plant in Dawson. Empty plastic pesticide container recycling guidelines state they must be triple or pressure rinsed and free of all pesticides, with labels and caps removed. Under 55-gallon containers only. No mini-bulk containers are accepted as part of this collection. Pesticide containers should be strung together before dropping them off and string is available at all plants. The first pick-up of the year will be on Tuesday, June 18th but you can continue to drop them off throughout the summer. The MN Department of Agriculture will schedule another pick-up this fall.
This program is sponsored by the MN Department of Agriculture and promoted by the LQP County Environmental Office.
