Economic Development

Since 2020, the cities of Dawson and Madison host the Economic Development function within Lac qui Parle County. 

Lac qui Parle County provides supportive funding to both the cities of Dawson and Madison who provide Economic Development services countywide through their local EDA boards, with an annual contract with Community and Business Development Associates (CEDA) for 1-day per week service. The city boards also provide economic development services through other contracts and grant programs including with the Upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission.

Revolving Loan Fund

Lac qui Parle County provides funding for any private business in Lac qui Parle County that will employ 50 or fewer new employees and has less than $1 million in projected gross revenues.
